Glenmoor by the Sea's commitment to the Environment

Nature holds the key to our aesthetic, intellectual, cognitive and even spiritual satisfaction. – Dr. Edward O. Wilson

You come to Maine, especially Midcoast Maine, for its natural and unique beauty, hiking trails, fishing, lobstering, sailing, coastline, and beaches.

When we became the owners of this beautiful property in 2017, we committed to being good stewards to this land, the people visiting, and all the natural features that make it a truly memorable vacation destination. Our 12-acre gem is a special property where we align our values to protect the earth while allowing guests to experience the beauty of Midcoast Maine.

Sustainability is at our core and we aim to provide a gorgeous setting with ecotourism in mind.

You can feel good having a picnic on our rolling grassy lawns, playing fetch with your dog, walking on our rocky beach, or enjoying a game of horseshoes all without worry. We use a completely natural and effective tick and mosquito spray and no harsh chemical lawn treatments are used on the property.

Our guests are amazed by our "dark" starry night skies! You will notice throughout the property, we reduce light pollution by using energy-efficient LED lights and outside ambient solar lighting.

Here are some of the changes we have implemented so far:

*NEW this year, we have installed energy efficient Heat Pumps (with A/C) in all of our guest accommodations with the assistance of Efficiency Maine and installation from SolarLogix!

We are proud of the efforts and changes we have implemented to create an accommodating environment that reflects our values of preserving and protecting your Maine vacation destination. We see this as an evolving process as time, changes in technology and opportunities to expand these efforts arise. We practice these values with deliberate care: care for our guests, care for our property, care for Penobscot Bay and care for the future of our planet. As our valued guest, we look forward to your input and suggestions on ways we can continue to improve your experience at Glenmoor By The Sea.
