Glenmoor By The Sea Announces Third Annual Pickleball Fundraising Event
Lincolnville, ME – Glenmoor By The Sea is proud to announce the return of their highly anticipated annual For Fun Sake Pickleball Invitational, set to take place at Glenmoor by the Sea's pickleball courts.
Glenmoor by the Sea started this annual pickleball tournament after deciding to re-invest in their tennis court and offer their guests a new, popular amenity: a Pickleball court. As Pickleball continued to surge in popularity this investment was a win-win and by creating this annual tournament, it was the perfect opportunity to spread the word about their newly refreshed amenity. In an effort to strengthen their ties within the local hospitality community, Glenmoor by the Sea chose to collaborate with fellow businesses in the industry to create an alternative platform to connect and bring local businesses within the community together.
This year's For Fun Sake Annual Pickleball Invitational will take place on Monday, June 9th, at 12:00pm, at Glenmoor By The Sea, located at 2143 Atlantic Highway, Lincolnville, ME.
While this event is invitation only, our pickleball courts are always free for guests at Glenmoor By the Sea to use during their stay!
They've held two successful tournaments thus far and continue to donate all proceeds to local organizations. Dorothee from the Beach Cottage Inn in Lincolnville won the first-ever pickleball tournament, choosing to donate the winnings of $1,000 to the Lincolnville Business Groups Scholarship Fund. Last year, at their second tournament, Natalie's Restaurant - Relais and Chateaux (can we delete this part or should it remain?) won and chose to donate their winnings of $1,200 to the Maine Coast Animal Rescue. This year, they've (Glenmoor?) added the option to sponsor the event in the hopes to raise even more money.
Community members are welcome and encouraged to enjoy the action from the courtside. Food will be offered from The Moody Dog. Each team will make a $125 donation upon registration that will be donated to a charity of the winning team's choosing.
The following teams will be competing in this year's tournament:
"Looking back, investing in our pickleball court was one of the best decisions we've made. The former tennis court was crumbling and in disrepair," said Millicent Kriste, Owner of Glenmoor by the Sea. "With two incredible pickleball tournaments behind us, we're excited for this year's event. We can't wait to see who takes the title this time and which local charity will benefit from the funds raised."
Combining competitive fun and community spirit, the tournament promises to be a highlight of the season for both spectators and players.
Media are invited to attend. If interested, or have questions regarding the event please contact Meghan Rothschild at 413 218 4994 or meghan@chikmedia.us.
