COVID-19 POLICY & PROCEDURES UPDATE
As we open Glenmoor for 2020 season, we continue to monitor and revise our policies to comply with all of Governor Mills mandates and Maine CDC recommendations. We have taken several steps to prepare our property, train our staff and refine our accommodations and services to comply with these state mandates created to help ensure all of our guests, staff and greater mid-coast community stay safe and secure in these challenging times of COVID-19. We appreciate your wanting to vacation with us and look forward to welcoming you this summer and fall.

The State of Maine has adopted a staged approach, supported by science, public health expertise and industry collaboration, to allow Maine businesses to safely open when the time is right. This plan is available at www.maine.gov/covid19/restartingmaine. and we will continue to align with any new/modified mandates as they become available. We are following the recommendations made by the CDC and the American Hotel and Lodging Association (AHLA) Stay Safe Program. As a requirement for re-opening in the state of Maine, we are complying with the Lodging and applicable sections of the Restaurant COVID-19 Prevention Checklists as required by the Maine Department of Economic and Community Development. Some of the highlights of these enhanced procedures have been outlined below.

While this is a time of some uncertainty, please know that all of us here at Glenmoor take your health, welfare and safety very seriously. While some of our offerings will not have the same look/feel as you may have experienced in your previous stays, the very same care and energy is being put into making sure you can spend your time with us relaxing, unwinding, and enjoying our beautiful area. 🌞

As of June 1, we are permitted to host*:
Residents of Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont, without restriction 
Residents from other states must follow the State of Maine Travel Regulations

Room Availability
During the COVID-19 Pandemic, we are limiting the number of available rooms in order to help facilitate social distancing. Although the majority of our accommodations allow for social distancing, private entrances and crowd avoidance, we will not be opening some of our rooms for the duration of the 2020 season. Prior to your arrival, please note that we may have to change your room type based on safety regulations and restrictions, however we will do our absolute best to honor your accommodation of choice, specified at time of booking.

Cancellations
Our No-Hassle, Penalty-Free, Cancellation
All reservations booked directly with our property, for stays between June 1st and October 17th, 2020 will enjoy our no-hassle, penalty-free cancellation guarantee.Cancel anytime up to 1-week prior to your arrival and receive a full deposit refund, no questions asked.


Check-in
We have implemented contactless check in and check out for this season. We ask that you remain in the car and call or text to notify staff of their arrival. We will greet you on the porch of our lobby building with a friendly smile (while keeping a safe distance, of course) to answer any questions you might have and direct you to your room. We ask that all payments be made over the phone prior to arrival. Envelope with your name, map and keys will be placed on the table on the porch for you to grab. Letting us know what time you will be arriving in advance, will help us greet you at check in. Please consider calling, emailing, or texting us with your arrival time.

Check-out
We ask that you drop off the keys in the same location upon check out. Your final receipt will be emailed to you.

Texting
We have implemented a text messaging tool to facilitate our communications during your stay. Before your stay, you will be sent a text message from our reservations system. Please take the time to opt in.

Guest Rooms
We will maintain the practice of thoroughly cleaning all guest rooms using hospital-grade disinfectants and sanitizers, per CDC guidelines. We have removed quilts/coverlets, decorative pillows and fabric window coverings in an effort to keep your room as clean as can be. While we have always ensured the highest cleaning standards for our rooms, we are adding additional steps to sanitize between you and the guest before you. Most often, we are adding one day between room stays to allow for extra sanitization time between guests.


Daily Housekeeping
Our staff will not enter your room during your stay unless we receive a request for maintenance concerns. Extra linens and any amenities will be provided upon request.

Food & Beverage
Our traditional "Complimentary Continental Breakfast" will be temporarily replaced with a grab-and-go boxed option. We try very hard to give you many more items and specialties beyond your standard continental breakfast and hope to carry that tradition forward in our to-go options. We will notify you at check-in or you may contact us with your preference for pick-up or delivery, and we will do our best to accommodate. All of our servers will be wearing personal protection equipment (PPE), and disposable utensils and wares will be provided. Beyond breakfast, please let us know if you are interested in other to-go options available to you. We will continue to offer beer and wine for sale, as we have in years past.

Laundry
Linens, towels and laundry shall be washed in accordance with CDC guidelines and AHLA cleaning standards. If something gets soiled/stained, please let us know immediately so that we can swap it out for you and provide instructions on how to safely bag the soiled linens for pick-up.
Social Distancing
As recommended by the CDC's social distancing guidelines, guests shall be advised to practice physical distancing by standing at least six feet away from other groups of people not traveling with them, including any area where guests or employees congregate.

Public Spaces & Common Areas
While we will not be opening our Lobby and guest common spaces (breakfast room, gym and guest laundry) we will be opening our lower pool (mid-June). For any of our remaining open common areas, cleaning and disinfecting shall be frequent (multiple times per day) with an emphasis on high contact, hard non-porous surfaces.

POOL
Please refer to the full pool policies posted at the entrance of the pool,
Pool towels will be yours for the duration of your stay. If you require a change out, please call hotel and we will swap them out

ICE
Our ice machines are self-serve. You will be expected to use the hand sanitizer (provided) for before helping yourself to ice.

Your Promise To Us
Please call ahead or book online in advance of your arrival. Currently no walk-in reservations are allowed.
Guests will be required to wear cloth face coverings when social distancing is difficult.
If you have been exposed to COVID- 19 or have symptoms, please stay home and plan to visit us when you are well.

These are very trying times. Please be patient. This is our first time implementing these new check in/out and texting procedures . There may be things that will need remediation along the way, please share those with us directly and help us to make them better. If you have stayed with us before, this looks much different than the warm welcome you have received before, tell us what would make it better. Hope to see you soon.

Reservation Policy: General Information Reservations are accepted on a space available basis. Specific location requests are honored whenever possible, but not guaranteed. In the event that a particular room or Cottage is not available, we reserve the right to place you in the most similar accommodations available.

Check In/Check Out
Check In time is after 3:00 p.m. Although the availability of rooms is not assured prior to 3 p.m. we will make every effort to accommodate you. Check-out time is 11:00 a.m.

Advance Deposits/Cancellations/Modifications

An advanced deposit of your first night including tax will be charged to your credit card at the time of booking.

If your travel plans change and you must cancel your reservation, please call us at least 7 days prior to your scheduled arrival date to cancel your reservation and receive a refund minus the cancellation/administration fee of $25. In the unlikely event that you must cancel with less than 7 days notice, shorten your stay or check out early, please understand that we must ask you to take responsibility for your entire reservation. However, we will refund the charge if we can completely re-book your room(s). *Oceanfront Cottages require a 2 week cancellation policy.

OTA and Third Party Reservations (reservations not made directly with us at glenmoorbythesea.com or by phone with us at 207-236-7905) have their own cancellation policies. Please refer to them for details.

Rates/policies are subject to change and may vary during high impact periods and special events.

Special deposit/cancellation policies may be in effect for the Blues Festival (July), Lobster Festival (August), Harbor & Boats Show (August), Holiday Weekends, Suite Rooms and Multiple Night or Group Reservations. If you make a reservation on-line that involves any of these particulars we will contact you to discuss the specific requirements.

Special events require a 2 -3 night minimum stay, 50% deposit and 14 day cancellation notice.
Additional Adults and Children There is a $10.00 charge for each additional adult in a double occupancy room. Children 12 years of age and under stay free in parents' room. Children 13 – 17 are charged $10.00 extra per night. Please note there is a maximum of four people per room, unless otherwise noted. 

Pet Policy
 
Glenmoor by the Sea does feature rooms specially designated for pet dogs. They must be domestically trained and on a leash at all times. Please check our pet policy online before making a reservation. All pet rooms must be verified via phone or email for availability. Pet fee is $25 per pet per night. Two pet maximum.

We accept MasterCard, VISA, AMEX and Discover. Please note that all published and /or quoted room rates are subject to Maine State Sales Tax (currently 9%)
