About Us

Your Perfect Setting on the Ocean

Experience the richness of our glorious Maine coastal setting. As you enter our property you are immediately struck by the natural beauty of our expansive ocean views, our 14 acres of sweeping landscape that rolls down to the water’s edge and our stunning waterfront along Penobscot Bay. We have just added two beautiful waterfront decks for everyone’s enjoyment that are conveniently linked with a new set of steps to the water’s edge.

Newly Renovated Rooms with Exceptional Views

The Glenmoor offers guests 20 cottages and 15 guest rooms, each with private bath and a large private deck or balcony overlooking the ocean. All of our rooms were renovated in 2011 and come with a full array of new furnishings and modern amenities including refrigerators, microwaves, coffee makers, flat screen TV’s and air conditioning. Most rooms provide the added convenience and flexibility of plush new sofas with full or queen size pull out beds.

Recreational Amenities Waiting to Serve You

For active guests, our resort offers two heated pools, a tennis court nested among the pines and an open space centerpiece that we refer to as our “Great Lawn”. During the day, guests can enjoy croquet, badminton, horseshoes, bocce ball and lawn bowling on the lawn. At night, a stone-lined fire-pit on the lawn becomes a social focal point as guests gather from their rooms to socialize, gaze at the stars and toast marshmallows. In addition, our waterfront deck provides the perfect romantic spot to sip a glass of wine, evening cordial or sparkling water and watch the moon rise slowly over the horizon and set the bay aglow.

Enjoy Breakfast and Organize Your Day

The Glenmoor serves a generous continental breakfast every day in our breakfast room off the main office guest center. Our desk staff is ready and eager to offer recommendations and help you plan your day’s activities. Free Wi-Fi service, a guest desktop PC and a library of local books and guides are also there to support your information needs and browsing curiosities.

Central Location Minutes from Historic Downtown Camden

We are conveniently located five minutes from picturesque downtown Camden Harbor and less than a minute from the entrance to Camden Hills State Park and its famous view from Mt. Battie. Our front desk staff can quickly arrange a host of cultural and outdoor activities including dining, shopping, antiquing, hiking, canoeing, kayaking and sailing. Impressive lighthouse tours are a local favorite and the region offers some extraordinary art museums and galleries.

The Perfect Place to Relax

For many, Maine is a place to relax, read a good book and soothe the senses with peace, solitude and natural beauty. The Glenmoor offers the perfect balance between quiet privacy and the more social engagement of resort amenities. The choice is yours and many of our guests love this freedom and flexibility. With a little advanced notice (24 hours please), our resort staff can also arrange relaxation or aromatherapy message for you in the convenience of your own room.

A Special Place in the Fall

The natural beauty of the Glenmoor is what makes it a particularly special place in the fall. The grounds and surrounding vistas are full of blazing maples, oaks and birches as the late summer weeks give way to Indian summer and the approach of fall. Along the coast, days remain relatively warm, shadows deepen and the evenings offer great sleeping weather. To the delight of many, the coastal region quiets a bit, traffic subsides and guests enjoy both the slower pace and engaging camaraderie of fellow autumn travelers.

Capture the Essence of Maine

The Camden area is known as the region where the “mountains meet the sea”. The Glenmoor is your window to that natural landscape – mountains, lakes, rivers, beaches, and protected bays. Our setting appeals to all your senses – the smell of fresh pine, the soothing sound of gentle surf at the water’s edge, the delicate touch of peeling white birch bark, the taste of a freshly picked blue berries and steamed lobster and the visual beauty of mountain peaks and secluded inshore islands dotting the bay. Come to the Glenmoor, engage your senses and capture the essence of Maine!
